Business Continuity
Experterra can trace its roots back to the early 1900’s in as a family buildings & property maintenance in Kensington, London. Moving to North West London in 1964 the current directors have links to St Albans from 1971 and set up the Limited company in 1999.
Financial information
Experterra is part of the Expertel Group of companies first formed in 1999. The company has no debt whatsoever and holds cash in bank sufficient for at least 3 to 5 years continued operations in a “crisis scenario”.
Debtor days are less than 14 days.
Bankers are HSBC Harpenden contact our Business Manager Sarah Large at the branch, who will be happy to arrange for a reference.
Key employees
Key employees have been given a security of employment guarantee during the “credit crunch”. Experterra operate as a tightly knit family ensuring a high level of employee cohesion and minimal staff turnover. The original “founding” employees are all still present.
Materials supply
Customers are free to source their own materials or Experterra can supply. We have discount agreements with the major trade suppliers and all staff have local on site purchasing authority to get the job done fast and efficiently.

Customer base
Experterra have a diverse base of commercial and private customers with no single large customer. As well as one off projects there is a high level of repeat business through ongoing maintenance work including especially through exterior painting and grounds maintenance.
Customer Care & Quality Management
Total Quality Management (TQM) is at the heart of Experterra processes and we work to ISO 9001 standards. Feedback from customers is requested at the end of each job and areas of improvement not resolved on site are dealt with by an Experterra Director within 24 hours and a programme of corrective action agreed.
Enviromental policy
At Experterra we recognise that our local activities will have an effect on the environment on a local, regional and global scale. Therefore our activities are designed in a way that will often be beneficial to the environment, utilising countryside management good practice, and raising awareness through education.
We will monitor and manage our environment impact and endeavour to ensure we continually improve our environmental performance and reduce the pollution we produce.
In all activities undertaken we will comply with local and regional environmental legislation, regulations and codes of practice governing our activities as a minimum standard. Where possible we will seek to go beyond these minimum standards and achieve excellence in environmental standards.
Experterra wishes to be recognised as an environmentally aware and responsible company, with this policy forming the basis of that process.

Environmental Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation
Carry out a review of the environmental policy on a regular basis
Environmental Awareness
Educate and train staff about their impact on the environment in order to work in a more sustainable way
Inform customers about their environmental impact and encourage them to consider this in the decision making process.
Biodiversity
Protect and enhance wildlife habitats on place of work through good practice countryside management techniques
Where applicable promote the populations of local and national Biodiversity Action Plan species
Through our work control pest and invasive species
Transport
Reduce the need for travel & transport including direct travel to site and implementing remote working technologies.
Implement actions that will reduce the environmental impact of staff transportation to and from sites including low CO2 emission vehicles and encouraging cycling to work.
Waste
Reduce, reuse and recycle ethos is used through the business.
• Good usable consruction materials are retained and recycled with customer consent.
• Tools are maintained carefully and repaired rather than replaced.
• Waste wood is saved used to heat the business premises.
Suppliers
Where possible source suppliers that have sustainable and ethical practices.
The environment friendly option is our preffered option where suitable eg. water based vs. oil based paints.
